Domain Archaea
Domain Archaea are prokaryotic cells which are recognized by membranes that are actually hydrocarbon chains attached to glycerol by ether linkages. The presence of this ether linkage in Archaea helps them but managing to handle extreme temperate and highly acidic conditions. Extreme halophiles are the best examples of Archaea. These are organisms which can stand highly salty environments or they can live normally in extremely hot conditions.
